She was born April 25, 1915 in Montpelier, Indiana, and died in Clermont, Florida. Oma was steadfast in her faith, serving first as member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Orlando for over 40 years where she taught Sunday school, and as a member of Woodlands Lutheran Church in Montverde for over 30 years. In childhood, she traveled with her father as he worked in the oil industry. She graduated from Hollywood High and worked in the film industry in Hollywood and Burbank as a film splicer and as a movie extra, and met her husband who had worked as a stuntman. She moved to Florida in 1936, and was a bookkeeper for both Nielsen Lumber Yard and Nielsen Refrigeration in Winter Park, Florida, and later was employed by Medical Pool as a home health aide. In her retirement years, she enjoyed reading, traveling, and needlework.She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Clarence E.E. Nielsen, her son Roy E.M. Nielsen, and her grandson, Roger E.M. Nielsen. She is survived by her children, Sylvia (Larry) Hylton, Clermont, Florida; John O.W. (Christa) Nielsen, Bybee, Tennessee; Andrea (Richard) Pepper, Cape Coral, Florida; George E.E. Nielsen, Orlando, Florida, and Hollera Nielsen (widow of Roy), Uvalda, Georgia. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren.Visitation for Oma Nielsen will be Friday, March 30, 2018, 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., and Saturday, March 31 from 2:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m., immediately preceding the funeral service at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Funeral Home, with Rev.
